Have you ever asked someone about the proper etiquette on Facebook? A good friend recently asked me about the do’s and don’ts on Facebook so I came up with this little video. Be sure to check out more Facebook tips on the Pop17 Facebook application. Add it today!

Do you agree with me? I’d love to hear from you for my next hot and not on Facebook. What’s the best and worst facebook practices?

Hi! lol I am such a dork. OK what do you think is hot on facebook? What’s not hot? Did I cover all the bases in the vid or do you have any more suggestions?

  3. Hot Rod says:

I don’t use much my facebook, there is just so many blogs and such, you really have to limit your self, there’s only so many hours in a day to keep up…

  4. Olivier says:

    Cool video and fun too!
… not hot: people changing their status 5 times a day as a cry for attention.
…hot: leaving a funny video in the morning for all your friends to see. A good way to start the day with a smile :)

Hey Sarah! Here’s some more dos and don’ts for Facebook:

Do: Reply back to people’s wall posts
Don’t: Flood someone’s wall with trivial posts.
Do: Tag photos of your friends
Don’t: Tag people who are not in a photo
Do: Use Facebook Lite (http://lite.facebook.com) when you want a clearer Facebook experience free of applications and clutter.
Do: Block invitations and notifications from Facebook applications if you don’t want them.
Don’t: Block invitations and notifications from people who use applications you don’t like.
Don’t: Overreact when people remove you from their friend’s list.

hahah, I laughed for a while at the baby pic and picture of a bunch of friends one… i swear I’ve added like 50 people because I thought they were someone else.

  8. JessicaKat says:

I agree with Leon on don’t overreact when people remove you from their friend’s list.

  9. Villemar says:

Not hot: Constant Farmville or Mafia King updates…there is a way to turn these constant notifiers off if you play these games.

Not hot: Hardcore political & religious discussion (just like in real life).

Not hot: Overshare. No one wants to hear about your having a bunion removed or your dog’s diarrhea.

Hot: Reading witty and creative updates.

I think of it as basic good social ettiquite; as if you’re at a party. Be interesting!

@Leon some great tips there. Thanks for sharing with us :)

I had not heard of Facebook Lite, is it only for mobile browsers or will it work on my desktop machine too?

  11. Kelly says:

Hot: having two accounts if you get too many friends
    hot: fan pages

  12. Leon says:

@Luke It’s meant to work with desktop machines. It was made for those who have bandwidth limitations or chose not to be overburdened with applications.
