Watch Web Shows and TV on the Internet
Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008
On the streets of SoHo, I asked people to tell me about their experiences watching internet videos. One guy told me about the Max Mosley scandal video that came out as a result of YouTube. Clearly, citizen journalism is shaping what people watch.
People go to the internet to watch fiction, comedy, entertainment and news. Jamison Tilsner and Josh Cohen curate, catalog and critique online shows on their website, Tilzy.tv They also blog about new developments in the developing online video industry. I sat down with Jamison and Josh in Washington Square Park to discuss the shows they are watching now. They recommend ViralCom and Cspot.

Great show Sarah! You so full of energy and excitment!!!
I watch TechCrunch and Rocket Boom.
the best thing we have over here in the UK is BBC iplayer, its a shame tv-links.co.uk got shut down
You should try not putting the autoplay function with your videos because just like how you were taking about how some sites benefit better with text then with video, you should give viewers time to read what the video is about before you autoplay it.
@Boring Market, I will look into fixing that. Do you mind that much or is it only slightly annoying?
BBC iplayer is all the rage in London @luke3000
oh no i wasn’t first to comment. My hat trick :(. And yeh i agree with BM, you should set your videos so that its manually played by users. I dont think it hard to do. isn’t it just a button on viddler?
choose and decided what i wanna see … web web forever
in that clip - i found two guys that had their eyes on your butt.
@sarah, my current personal favourite is iPlayer on the iPhone, what could be better than portable mobile TV?
@lukeb3000 I should get iplayer on the iphone then. I only have youtube right now.
The Gnooze! I love it!
Cool video Sarah.
What mic were you using? how is the audio in this video so even, when you are waving the mic around so much?
-David
by the way, I watched Quarterlife , until it
disa -ppeared /pointed. I’ve seen some episodes of The Burg.
And I watch Nerve.com, VBS.tv, some of the On Networks stuff, Beet.tv, thedigitallifestyle.tv, NHL.tv, Sexy Beijing, some of the 60 Frames stuff, JonLajoie.com, FunnyOrDie.com, and cooking shows too, and my own stuff too of course, at http://www.livemtl.com.
Well, in all honesty the auto-play function is slightly annoying but bearable. I’ll be patient while you work out all the bugs, I know I’m glad when my subscribers are.
Watched your show on Shows and TV. on the internet.I would watch more if there was a guide or something to direct me to various entertainment sites. I just sort of fell upon your site.
hi Russell http://tilzy.tv does just that!
hey David, you certainly are savvy in the Internet tv world. I’m going to look up what mic I use and get back to you.
Thanks Sarah.
