LOLCat Bible is a wiki that allows anyone collaborate to translate the bible into LOLCat talk. The Bible has not been translated, though many collaborate to get there, in it’s entirety. Martin monitors the web site to make sure there are non inappropriate images posted to the wiki. One would imagine that the LOLCat Bible would not be a sufficient source to learn about the scripture, however, many are fulfilled in visiting the site by a cultural phenomenon that is worth checking out.

Good interview, Sarah; short and to the point, you asked the right questions and covered the topic very well. Now, how about the Koran.

Dang, appears the LOLCat translation site is down! Just when I was feeling the need for some Scripture . . .

Honestly, as a Christian I’m sure there are detractors from such projects, but there’s precedent for this kind of thing. In the ’70s a translation called “The Way” came out that used words such as “hepcat.”

This is one of the greatest community projects; regardless of the possible controversy, how can’t you have fun translating things into LOLCat speak?

I personally say “lul”. It is just easier to say and it rolls off the tongue faster. Efficiency is the way to go!
