Animation In Real Life: Part 2 From Pixar Studios

A Zoetrope is a trick that show’s people animation through a series of still images spinning. Traditional zoetropes would use two-dimensional images, typically spun in a circle and with a person looking through the slits. This 3D zoetrope from Pixar inspired from Studio Ghibli by Hayao Miyazaki. Zoetropes date back to the nineteenth century. Images revolve on the inside of a barrel, and viewed through slits in its walls, imitate motion. Pixar’s 3D zoetrope takes it to the next level [...]

Girl VS Gadget- Novero Bluetooth Headset

This is a headset calling device with a speakerphone for your car. Get this Novero Lexinton collection for around $100. It’s too bad that this headset was designed just for men. It seems like an all around great headset with dual mics, 20 hour talk time, and a case with a built-in battery backup/charger. I mean, it seems silly to cut off half of your potential customer base by designing something just for one sex. Novero does have the Victoria [...]

Green and Yellow: Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and Lil Wayne

If you want to summarize American culture then look to football and the Superbowl. We are so coorporate in the west that we love the ads more than the game. The Green Bay Packers win and the advertisers and commercials make history. Sketchers wins as Kim Kardashian gets steamy at the gym with her SketchUps. It wasn’t the big hit of the ads, however, little Max Page aka Darth Vater for Volkswagon was the star of the commercial show. Eminem [...]

    BoxerGirl Unboxing Sony Bloggie Touch

Big thanks to Sony for giving me this Bloggie Touch to unbox for Pop17′s new mini series, BoxerGirl. Check out the Sony Bloggie Touch. One thing I want to point out, that I didn’t talk much about in the video, is Sony’s unique firmware. It has the ability to tag videos and photos as it uploads them to Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, and YouTube just as soon as the device is connected to a computer. Thank you so much to youtube [...]

  • YouTube Live and Virgin America Wifi launch

Download: Previously on Pop17, I talked about lifecasting and interviewed Steve Chen about YouTube’s plan to integrate live video on their site. Silicon Alley Insider said that it wouldn’t happen this year, however, it did with YouTube Live. As you can imagine, that was expensive to serve. (See more details at TechCrunch). Part of the event was broadcasted to YouTube from 30,000 feet in the air on board Virgin America for their wifi beta launch. I agree with Cory Williams [...]
