So after watching this I had to look up the word niche… It’s pronounced ni-tch… rather than neesh (or so says dictionary.com: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/niche). I’m glad it would have been terrible if I had been pronouncing it wrong all my life.

shouldn’t people be paying less attention to celebrities and shallow self promotion, like “pipming” their myspace? There are so0o0o0 many things in this world to become involved with and to affect and to enjoy, so why waste time on watching someone else’s life online and use that time to live your own? Am I so crazy? Is this way of living vicariously really the ideal?

Sarah, wouldn’t it make sense to introduce some criticism of the frivolousness of some of the things you cover, to try and raise the level of the dialog you have with your viewers/readers?

Although did get a bit bored with all the people who had no idea what you were talking about. Wasn’t there a single person who did?

Would have been great to hear more about the differences between niche and micro-celebrities, as I still don’t really understand how they do differ.

Are we saying that niche is an expert? Whereas micro is famous for being a scenester?

Sarah, what can people do to get rid of google page results if they don’t want to lifecast online. If everyone lifecasts on facebook, twitter and ustream how to you make sure you have a good reputation?

So I’m pretty much sure that since it involves interaction it mostly applies to the Internet.

How niche/micro can you go? I’m thinking of my field – librarians and libraries. It’s almost a niche within a niche. Maybe a micro niche! Anyway – at a library conference, I’ll get stopped in the hall, asked to dinner, etc… but at a non-librarian thing (like the recent SXSW), not so much.

So I find this topic terribly interesting – keep it up!

Hi Dale, yes please do so! I will have to wait for it to come out as a podcast on their website so depending on who gets it first you may hear it before I do. From my experience this is probably the case.
