Joss may have been impolitic, but he’s right in general: there’s a difference between a) adopting ‘geek culture’ as a lifestyle and b) being crapped on your whole life for being different: and respectfully, somehow I don’t think Sarah’s ever been stuffed into a locker.
That’s not to say people like Sarah who are enthusiastic about tech and social networking and other aspects of traditional geekdom are somehow not entitled to be so. It’s just that there’s a difference between geek and Geek.
But at the end of the day, I don’t think it’s in anybody’s best interest not to be inclusive. Geek or geek, we shouldn’t reflect the narrowmindedness of mainstream culture.
Just my opinion.
Lol that’s funny!
Dude, Sarah. Tahmoh Penikett totally came over there expressly to hit on you.
Wow..I watched every episode of Buffy…Joss Whedon is great….Good Job Sarah as usual!!
I love how he treats his actors, I am a “Buffy” geek…I hope Dollhouse does great in ratings..One of the most under appreciated television producers…..Keep em coming Sarah!
WOW! You met the cast of Glee – so jealous :P
xoxA keen dissection of social strata:
Dork–Nerd, –Then Geek
Classic.
Oh, Sarah, are you attending blogworld in Las Vegas October 15-17? I hope so–I’ll be there to learn from the experts…it’s my first visit. There ought to be some great interviews for you there too, although I doubt many tv or movie stars (Unless Ashton K. attends). If you are, “tweet” me –I’m “matrixband” on twitter. If there are any must listen too speakers, let us all know.
Day (17-8), a popular fighter in Alberta, was released by the UFC in 2009 after dropping back-to-back bouts to Michael Bisping and Kendall Grove. He bounced back at RITC 35 with a submission victory over Trevor Stewardson. He is looking to a win over Taylor to help put him back on the UFC
