Hey Arno, I am always finding talent (ie musicians, singers, songwriters) online and am amazed by what it is doing to the music industry. Where do you think all this will be in 5 years?
Sarah,
Very hard to answer to your question. I think the most talented… What is very interested is that you can be discoverd as an artist on internet but it is very difficult to be very popular and to be present on iTunes or other distribution plateform without dealing with music major. I had some examples in France where artists are discovered on the net and had a small popularity there and after sign with music major to be produced.
When will be possible to be self produced and be watched on tv and presented on iTunes ?Hey Arno,
There are a lot of podcasts, like Twit, that are independently produced and popular on itunes. I know that they will give more attention to the bigger players like major music labels, however, there will be strong shows that get equal treatment. Rocketboom is a fine example, they are on TiVo so you can watch on TV there and they are also distributed on itunes and popular there too. I think YouTube is one of the hardest places to get noticed independently. Agree or disagree?
hey sarah how come no background music on this episode?
:)
@ali, the background music isn’t easy to get in every episode. I’ll try to use more of that. Do you think it makes the episode better?
Sarah, you need to fix/do something with the lighting because you have shadows next to your nose.
Sorry :-)
Other than that, I enjoyed the show!thanks for giving me hope Sarah!
Agree for ITunes. I think that it will be cool that ITunes or other music online plateform will distribute independant music like Amazon Marketplace. ITunes could develop this concept to generate new revenues from the long tail…

Very interesting video as usual. What is also very interesting is that with internet, so former stars as singers can promote their owns composition very fare away from the big music industry.
That’s freedom and that is good.
