We found the Webutantes
Sunday, June 7th, 2009
You heard it from @newyorkcitypr “Oh wear are wear are thou webutantes?” Since this is the first Webutante Ball, googling research had to be done so hello to NYmag and thanks to Caroline McCarthy, a CNET blogger who said, “This is a way to celebrate people who are passionate about having a presence on the Internet”.
These inquisitive internet nerds enter a different world when leaving their URL existences. Internet nails typing were certainly out (LOL) wearing their own famed crowns to be photographed in, but it was back to high school and cattiness no longer mattered when you are known in the world of social media. These Webutante’s certainly know how to protect their personal brands by saying the right things and many many many photos to be uploaded later. The standards of Webutante etiquette is still developing and next years event will be something to look forward to in real life and online.
Any other era, these women would have otherwise scouted the corporate web executive scene and found more business cards in their sidekicks, instead everyone wanted to be near the cameras. Congratulations to Sarah and Amir, the offically crownded King and Queen of the gala.
Megan from Non-Society was absent. We hope she is feeling better. But we got to see Julia Allison with her dashing diva pink Forever 21 dress.

Gorgeous dress for a gorgeous girl..Sarah Austin..still the hottest one there..
