Sarah Austin

Here is an annotated list of Sarah Austin’s professional achievements over the last few years. To read a little about what others say check out Wikipedia.

A) LiveStream.com livestream

Before LiveStream, the production control room was one fixed location, and all collaborators in the process had to be in the same building. Remote cameras for communication were possible, but also expensive since they required satellite feeds. Today, that is not the case.

LiveStream supports the production of the Pop17 weekly live shows. These segments deliver breaking news in real time to an audience of thousands of people at one time. With the robust catalog of branding options LiveStream provides, the broadcast looks like a major new broadcast. In fact, Fox News, PBS and CSpan use LiveStream as a platform to expand their online presence.
They do not have exclusive rights to the content, which allows the Pop17 show to simultaneously broadcast to other platforms.
Pop17 chose LiveStream as one of many options. It is an innovative media tool for professionals, as well as beginners who need the necessary tools for you to create their own 24/7 online television channels.

B) Justin.tv jtv

Justin.tv is building a destination site for broadcasting and watching live video online while chatting with friends. The company’s mission is to enable viewers and broadcasters to interact and exchange ideas in real time through chat and live video.
Their mission, in their own words:
“In the past, live broadcasting was only available to large media corporations who were willing to spend millions of dollars. Today, Justin.tv has democratized live video by shrinking all of the functionality of an expensive TV satellite trunk into a simple laptop or desktop computer.”
Justin.tv began when Justin Kan strapped a camera to his head and broadcasted his life 24/7. Others followed including me. I became a popular lifecaster with 3 million views and 5,000 fans. To see references to my lifecast on the wikipedia article go here.
